Our lab was established in April 2018 with the goal of developing novel biomedical imaging techniques based on optics and acoustics. In January 2019, it was promoted by UNIST to “Center for Photoacoustic Medical Instruments (PMI)” with the expectation of making distinctive contributions to the field.
Due to the rapid development of laser and photonic technologies, their roles in biology and medicine have become increasingly important. Key in clinical settings, ultrasound imaging has also been playing an indispensable role in various medical areas, and its application scope is still expanding through new methods and procedures. Our lab was initiated with the aim of implementing the mentioned techniques in all their forms to promote the health and welfare of humankind.

우리 연구실은 광음향(또는 광초음파)-초음파 영상 기술 개발은 물론 개발된 영상 시스템들을 이용한 다양한 의생명 응용을 추구합니다. 개발된 기술이 실제 임상에 적용되는 것이 궁극적인 목표이기에 현재 여러 의대들과도 다양한 주제의 공동 연구들을 매우 활발히 수행 중에 있습니다. 그러니 전공 분야를 막론하고 관심 있는 분들은 본 연구실에서 함께 일하실 수 있습니다.
